As a mother of a 14 year boy I found this quiet disturbing. High school shootings in the USA are unfortunartely familiar to us all but this book looks at it from the murderers parent point of view. A reluctant parent with a difficult and distant child, writing to to her husband who does not answer we find out why later on. It is interesting to observe this diifident mother and son relationship and the other relationships within the family. A son who injures his little sister, a father who thinks that being his son's best buddy is a good relationship and a mother who never wanted kids in the first place watching her life fall apart.

A disturbing slant on the current "high school massacre" phenomenon. Not written as a horror story but rather as a consideration of relationships within the perpetrators family.

A truly honest and very scary look at motherhood. This book was shocking but I couldn't put it down and it stayed with me long after I has finished reading
